You know, I am a LITTLE suspicious over this whole "swine flu" thing.
Do I think it is possible that there are people out there getting sick? Absolutely.
But seriously folks. When I go to the doctor it is miraculous if he has my OWN test results from blood tests taken in a building less than 100 feet from where I am meeting him.
Now I am supposed to believe that there are less than five cases of swine flu in all of Alberta, but they have all been linked? I can't even get the doctor to link a fever and rash on my two year old to the shots he gets less than 12 hours previously.
I live in Northern Canada and work with students in a college setting. The Occupational Health and Safety Officer at our campus is having us ask incoming students if they have been in Mexico in the last seven days.
I am married to a conspiracy theorist. Perhaps some of her cynicism has rubbed off on me. On the other hand maybe there is something to say about her conspiracy theories.
Don't get me wrong. I believe there is a virus out there. I believe it is the swine flu - or H1N1 as it is being referred to now. I just think there is something suspicious about it, about where it is coming from, about how it is being tracked, about who is tracking it, and about how prevalently it is being reported in the media.
And really. Don't you?
