September Snapshot

Current mood: melancholy over Maxies birthday, but excited for the rest of this month to pass. I am HOPEFULLY getting a tattoo in October at the convention in Calgary and October is my birthday month! YAHOO!
Current movie: I haven't watched a movie this month, but maybe I should get onto Netflix and watch something.
Current TV Show: Ditto for television. DOH. I used to be such a television addict! What am I doing with my time?!
Current book: I'm reading two books currently, enjoying one and not the other.
Current song: Try by Colbie Callait
Current album: Listening to radio from Calgary more than I am listening to any album really. But Max took my earphones from my office so now I can't even listen to music at work. Sometimes that kid........
Current food: I made wontons for wonton soup but I don't think I like wonton soup so I may end up giving them away
Current drink: I have almost totally eliminated pop from my diet so no Dr. Pepper for me! Pour me another coffee though.
Current color: green
Current Beauty Product: I don't know if it is a beauty product, but I have been using spiced vanilla cream on my elbows from the body shop. My elbows should be beautiful. 

Current celebrity crush: Laura Prepon. Can't get enough of her.

Current Project: Masters degree project. I dont think this thing is ever going to end.
Current need: I drastically need to alter the energy in my life.
Current guilty pleasure(s): Hmn. Smoking makes me feel both guilt and pleasure, so I'll go with smoking.
Current annoyance: the things in my home that keep breaking. ARGGGGGG.
Current excitement: looking forward to September 29 when I will both see a friend I am missing AND get my haircut from Amy.
Current triumph: Oh - I don't think I am feeling triumphant over anything at this moment in time.
Current anticipation: Moving into the new trailer once the electricity gets hooked up.

Current celebrity crush: Season 3 of OITNB starts this week, I will get my Alex Vause fix!(Laura Prepon)
Current Project: Masters degree project. I dont think this thing is ever going to end.
Current need: I drastically need to alter the energy in my life
Current guilty pleasure(s): reading the book on the list of NPR's top 100 teen novels.
Current annoyance: messed up wifi connection at my house and corresponding cell phone bill
Current excitement: I was able to get my haircut from my all time favourite hairdresser who moved to Edmonton a while back. YAY!
Current triumph: I joined boot camp two weeks ago. I absolutely love it and I am bummed there is no calss today. I feel like I NEED to go and work out every day - I havent felt that way in a VERY VERY long time.

Monthly Review of August

My month of August in review:
1) Photo of me: ( I am in this picture!)

2) Current candle scents: I splurged and got a new candle which is lit right now in the office but I am sneezing up a storm. I think I am allergic to the perfume in it - it is lovely though. It is sugared plums and a pretty purple colour.

3) What I am currently reading: I have just finished a book by Jeffrey Archer entitled "Prisoner of Birth" which I LOVED. I am a huge fan of Jeffrey Archer I recently decided.

4) Newest music I added to my playlist: new Indigo Girls CD which I have to order online because apparently no-one in Northern Alberta has ever heard of them. FOR SHAME.

5) Movies I saw: I didn't see any movies in August. Nope. Not one.

6) Something yummy I made this month: I didn't make anything spectacular this month. I need to step up in September and make something good.

7) The last place I ate out: A and W, only because they are the only fast food place in the town, not because I particularly like them. I asked for a teen burger with no onion but I think she requested EXTRA onion. raw onion - gag.

8.) Something that made me cry: When the BBQ rolled over my foot (and by BBQ I mean HUGE school BBQ) I think I shed a tear or two.

9) Something that made me laugh or gasp: I laughed with Max this month and we tickled and chased one another in the yard.

10) Something I looked forward to this month: I looked forward to school starting.

11) Something I am thankful for: My family.

12) Something I want to remember about this month: Max was running through the hallway and he knocked a large book off the shelf and onto his foot. My spouse asked him if he was ok and if he needed a kiss. He brought the book over for her to kiss.

Monthly Review of July

My month of June in review:

1) Photo of me: My crazy hair and my son cheesing it up because he scored some black licorice.

2) Current candle scents: I have the same candle this month as I did last month and I didn't even burn it once this month. I still don't know what it is called. I am so boring, but I did THINK about getting a new candle!
3) What I am currently reading: Right now I am in between books but I just picked up seven from the library. I think I will read a George Pelecanos book next.

4) Newest music I added to my playlist: new music from Rob Thomas
5) Movies I saw: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
6) Something yummy I made this month: our family "shakes" - raspberry banana! YUM
7) The last place I ate out: Wendy's
8.) Something that made me cry: Nothing in June.
9) Something that made me laugh or gasp: I gasped yesterday when the driver of the Purolator van almost backed into me and THEN the driver was incredibly rude. I was parked there first AND he saw me before he started to back up.

10) Something I looked forward to this month: I am looking forward to seeing my niece and nephew!
11) Something I am thankful for: A paycheck
12) Something I want to remember about this month: Playing with the water hose with my son and watching him figure out what I was doing. He pointed at me and gave me a cheeky grin. It made me laugh out loud.

13) A photo I took this month: This is the car that the new neighbours burned in their firepit - which is still burning by the way.

My month of June in review:

1) photo of me: This is my son and I flying a kite in our yard this month. This VERY WINDY month.

2) current candle scents: I have the same candle this month as I did last month and I didn't even burn it once this month. I still don't know what it is called.

3) what I am currently reading: Ia m currently reading a book by T. Jefferson Parker entitled "California Girl". I like T. Jefferson books because they are usually a quick read and can generally keep my attention, however, I am having some difficulty with this one.

4) newest music i added to my playlist: I haven't added new music, but new "old" music from MJ - whom I think is a magnificent artist and I am sad about his death.

5) movies i saw: Taking of Pelham 123 - IN the theater!

6) something yummy i made this month: salad

7) the last place I ate out: Subway

8.) something that made me cry: I don't think I cried in June, and if I did it was about time off that I have lost as a result of this transition to working with a new company and being screwed by my former boss.

9) something that made me laugh or gasp: My boys make me laugh.

10) something I looked forward to this month: I looked forward to the END of the month when this transition is FINALLY over and we can move on with our lives and jobs.

11) something I am thankful for: My job in this wacky economy and TWO vehicles that FINALLY work.

12) Something I want to remember about this month: not one darn thing.

Monthly review: May

I like to check out new things and incorporate them into my blog. Some have been successful incorporation's and others have fallen by the wayside. I found this today at Am I half Dead or Am I doing fine and I really liked it (she got it from Fond of Snape - one of my favorite blogs.). (you can check out the blog by clicking on the titles). 1. Photo of Me: I will actually have to check with my spouse - she is the photographer and I am pretty sure she took something with me in it but I have no idea what it was or where it is now.


2. Current Candle Scents: I don't actually burn candles at home because my kids would burn the place down. In my office I have a candle I haven't burned in a long time but it is .... red and smells good. I peeled off the label apparently.



3. What I am Currently Reading: I am reading The Runner. I just finished Columbine (GREAT BOOK), and Opening Skinners Box (GREAT BOOK)


4. Newest Music Added to my Playlists: Boom Boom Pow. Mad World.


5. Movies I Saw: I watched some movies on television. The last one was Bangkok Dangerous and I hated the ending.


6. Something Yummy I Made This Month: I didn't make anything this month to eat at all. My spouse will completely LOVE it if I decided to make something yummy once a month! I did make myself a salad last night which was delish, but I didn't like whatever croutons I last purchased. Fail on soggy croutons.


7. The Last Place I Ate Out: The cafeteria at work - is that considered "eating out"?


8. Something That Made Me Cry: I didn't Cry last month that I remember anyway. I moved offices and there is a leak. The leak didn't make me cry but I could cry over how it is being handled.


9. Something That Made Me Laugh: Last night I said something really funny. So funny I can't remember what it was, but my spouse and I laughed for a good minute. (that was really June laughter - oh well)


10. Something I Looked Forward to This Month: SUMMER and cutting down some dead trees in my yard.


11. Something I Am Thankful For: My boys.


12. Something I Want to Remember About this Month: Max wearing high heels dress up shoes in daycare. When I went to pick him up the ladies said he never takes them off. I am sure they think because he has two mommies he is being "trained" to be a girl. I told them we don't have those kid of shoes in our house - which I thought was funny but they didn't know how to react - which was also funny.
